Today was joust a regular day of classes. Not much going on here. We did have a group of HU students come and visit us for the afternoon tho. They are doing a campain in Athans for little over a week. They came and sat throu part of our chaple service and for lunch. We had a more american luch, chiken nugets, frise and corn.
Tonight we had a mixer get to know each other better. We all turned in sheets with information about our selves and Die Mie put togeter finder right person question and answer sheet for us. That was a lot of fun. We found out that Dr. Baber had rode in a Drayer in colage, and some other intersting thigs about people. Mrs. McKlardy had travled to 9 countersy in 12 days. We then all played a game where we try to get our selves un tangled. We all got into 3 circles and then each grabed another person hand acrost the circle and then tryed to get un tangled. Our group came very close to getting it done in 10 min but did not. We ended by picking some one up and roling them over some one’s elces sholders whale still holding hands.
Everyone then had a bible study and discused what we had learnd and made plands for our trip to the Acropolice and Marse Hill tomaor. Leave birght and early in the moring 7:15. Brakfast is 6:30 am. I cant wate!!!

This morning we had our regular day of classes. Today was my last day to only have 2 classes on a odd day. Our classes are broken up into odd and even days and we alternate days based on the date is even or odd number. Starting Monday when Dr. Babber arives I will start to have Operating Systems at 8:00 am and then Networking at 9:00. The rest of the classes will be the same Humanities 270 and Humanities 201 wich we are waching a mov in right now.
This morning Mr. Myhan our director anounced that we had a coice of going to see the sun set on top of a mounton named Sounion or go see the new Star Wors Episode III movy that came out yesterday in Grofatta dew to it being clouty out side. The sun set would not be good with the clouds and not being clear. So that is what we did tonight. We will be going back to Sounion to see the sun set later in the summester on a better day.
Today in chaple Deno Ruso the minister / misinary at the church in Athans spoke to us. He brought a elder and wife that support the work here and are in town visiting with him. He also brought a convert who is Russian and is now speaking for the Russian service that the church in Athans. Deno inteperted for him as he spoke in Greeak. That was very interesting.
We departed at 3:00 for Grofatta wich is a mor americanised town on the coast about 45 min away from Portrafti. Our director Mr. Myham droped us off from our charter bus and gave us a little orentation giving us our barings of where things were and then we were on our own for supper. The group going to the movy were to meet back around 5:30 in a park like squair acrosed froma market beffor going to see the Movie as a group.
Benet, Joe, David, and my self went over to the Pizza Hut where we ended up ordering 2 Medem pepronie pizzas to start with and latter got another medeam. We had to pay 1.50 Ero each for the table wich is different from the states but we had the table for as long as we wanted it then. We ate out side on a street corner in a finsed in patteo. Our watter was a very nice felow. He was intrested in on of the books that Joe had on the table about tanks. He went and got a pice of paper and wrote down the information so he could go get a copy of it to read. I had a Coke Colla to drink with limon that was very good. We sat there from about 4:20 to 5:15 and had a nice dinner there. One funy thing that we saw was a car puled up on the street curb to park right on the side wack under neth the stop light on the courner. You shere would not see that in the states… you would get a tiket. haha.
Well from there we met up with the group in the park and went over to the movie theater. The theater that we wached was farly new and was very nice in side. The movi started at 6:20 pm and coust 7.00 Ero. Not to bad. I ended up sitting with two guyes from greece, Benet, and David Mathews who is our new SA VP at HU next fall. The I ended up tocking with the Two locals for some time. One who was sitting right next to me usto be a travl agent and spoke good english. From what I understand his sone who was sitting next to him spoke farly well also. We started out tocking about the movie and the guye sone had seen one of them when he was a boy. They liked the action and effects, story line so they decided that they weould come back and see the new one. They were both very nice people. We tocked about the fact that I was here for school and they wonderd where I was fom in the US. I toled them I was from Arkansaw and they sed where Bill Clinton is from, I sed yes. The man next to me has a good frend who livesin Cicogo, IL and he sed that he had travled to see him.
By the time Intermition came around His son and I formly interduced our selves and shook hands. We tocked a little more and the wonderd what pople in US thought about the War in Iraq virses what the Media ses. We tocked about hat for short while and then the movie start backup again.
You hered me right!! There are intermtions in the movies over here. It was nice and gave a chance to streach and for the many children to go get more food and go to the rest room.
We then walked back to the squair to meet backup with the rest of our group befor bording the bus to head back to Portrafti. We gatered around and chatted a little bit and some people went throu the market and bought things.
Tomaro we are taking our first trip into Athans Greece on public transportation. We will go as a group this time and the rest of the time we will be on our own to go with a group of frends on sundays or when ever we want to. We will eat lunch in Athans and touer around a little bite befor meeting back up to wack over to the church for evning services in English. That should be a very intersting day and exiting to see and meet with some more local ciristians.
I am off to bed now. I am getting tired. It is little after midnight here and tomaor will be a big day.

Today I had my first day of greek class and Bible class on Paul. We have started to learn several new words like good morning (calemara), good evening (calespara), and befor we start eating we say (calerexsie).
Cligm up the Mounton — After classes today I made my first jerny up the mounton that our hotell over looks in Portrafti. We left the Artumus around 3:00 pm. It was a lot of fun and was chalenging. I went up with my roomate Benet and Joe. Benet and Joe both have went up several times on a prevous trip to HUG when there parents were teaching here a few summers a go.
We hicked up to the top of the first pieck wich is what you see from town and then stoped and took some photoes from there on Joe’s try pod that he brought. This is about 1,500 ft frome see level below. To this point it took us about 1 and 1/2 howers from the start. Once we had done this we started to make our asent to the top of the next summut which is about another 1,000 ft to the top.
After we reached the top of the first landing there is a nice flat area where a lot of grass and less rocks are. We hicked acrosed there for about 200 ft on the level ground befor starting to clim the next hill to the top. The second clime was much easer than the first and did not have as many rocks to cligm up and more joust loose rocks on the ground. The whole mounton has a lot of briers and thorn bushes that will ceach you and scrach your arms.
Once we had reached the top of the next summut there was lots of places with flat rock serfices and was easy going for a while. The gound had leveled off and was much easer going from there to the summut. We continued and went up about another 100 ft befor reaching the top where there is a concreet piller marking the sumut. Total height from the see is around 2,600 to 3,000 ft.
On the way down the mounon we went down the right side opsite the side we had come up. This side was much slower going and had many more bushes to deal with. We ended up tacking around 2 howers to cligm down to the city from the sumut.
Once we reched the flat part between the two sumuts we hicked acrosed and ened up about 80 ft from where we came up the mounton. We then started our decent down the main slope of the mounton. This was a much more chalenging decent and had more rock clifs to deal with that on the way up. Nother to drastic. The larges rock face that we had to naveigate down was around 15 to 20 ft and it had good foot and hand holds. Benet ended up on a farly steep rock face and was chaleging for him to get down but made it safly after about 15 min of navigating. I went a crosed a leg at the top and made it down to a less ruguged and easer place to go down between two rock clifts.
Once we made it down to a large hill where there was tall grass we were so happy to see the flat gound once again. As we came down and reached an area with grass like on the prayers up to our wast some men shouted to us in greek and Benet toled them that we did not know greek; that we speek english. They then sed some thing to the effect that there are snakes up in the hills and were wondering why we would want to cligm a hill when there is nothing to see up there.
Once we reached the bottom we went down a road and ended up in some ones orcherd and then turned around and then went back up to the road. We then went back to the Artumus and supper was joust getting over. By now we were getting realy hungery. It is now about 7:55 and supper had begun at 6:00. We thought that we would make it back in time but took much longer to make our decent back down to town.
When we got in they were generous and gave us some cheken, corn, and frinch frise that were left over from supper. I also had some salid and watter. The rest of the evning I relxed and orginized some photoes that we had taken on our journy today.
Latter in the evning we had our first evning tea that is about 9:00 pm most nights. We had Nettella and gram crckers along with rasien bread and regular bread. There was an asortment of different types of tea. I had the vinilla tea.
Many of us were working on our first Bible paper for class that is dew sunday morning in class down out on the patteo on the wirless internet. Looked like a little wirless cafay. Prity neet.
