This morning I got up after a wonderful nights sleep at our hotell and then went down to breakfast after getting ready. Then we took a bus to Pella where we went to a museum and saw many artifacts found in the old city of Pella. We saw the foundations of the old city and hered about there avanced suor and watter system that wen to every home.

Then it was off to Berea where. Here we went to an restored centigaug that was built on the foundations of the original sinaguag. Here they found scroles and other artfacts that have to do with Paul’s visit to this area. Dew to is location out side the old city walls and the rive that is next store it is almost certon that this is the loacation of the sinaguag that Paul would have preached at. Visitores are not allowed in but we got speshal permition from city and were let in. The building did not look as I had amagioned a cinigaug looking. It was a great time of reflection about the place and asorbing the scripturs that were read about Pauls visot to this area.

Then we went for lunch and then off to Philop II toum and musum. This was realy neet to look at and see all the treashurs that were in his tum. The dyadim and leaf crown was amazing. The deatail and the repersentation was realy some thing to see. We wached a movey about the site and were able to see the out side of the toum it has never ben opend senc it was seald. The arecoligoust came in throu the roof so they would not disterb the enternce. It has a meconisum that allowed the dore to open and close and lock by the puling of as handle. The hole complex is under neeath a roof and and coverd back up with dirt so that you could see it as it was before they found it. Was need to see how was restord.

Tonight after supper in the dining hall at the Hotell we went into town of Thesolnica down by the Agean see. Here we went shoping down town off the squair areaea. We saw a demonstration with a protest and the streets were lined with poleace and as they walced down the street protesting and wanting greece to give them some right to…… …… Then we walked down another way and saw an opening of a store where there was had band on the roof and offered free coack cola and sandwiches. After this we also go some ice cream and waled and sat by the see. Then we all croweded back in our shutal bus and went back to the hotell for the night.

Then I wached part of the Count of Monty Cristo befor going to bead. The power ended going off twice last night so we did not get a wake up call untill T.J. called us. I had allready gotten up by the sun tho so all was good.

After breakfast we bored a bus and rode it to Phillipy. It was about 2 and 1/2 hower drive from Thesolnika. After ariving in Phillipy we started our tour in the Agora. First we saw the Bema where speakers would make anouncemnts or jugments would be maid in town.

Next we went over to where the military comanders had there office. This is where Paul probly had his trial. In this building the flour had 3 different levels. We sat and read the account of Paul in this area today. After this we went over to the shoping area and a church that was build after Paul had ben there. In this area was where the roman tolets were and we took some time to sit in this area.

After this we went over to the religous section at the other end of the Agora. Then we went into an area that was closed to general public where we saw a house that was used as one of the first churches. It had an inscriptionin conay greek on the corner of one of the mosacs stating about Paul. The arecoligis beleve that this is one of the first curches and the building had evolved the belefes of the church had changed. From an original focus that the hole church is the body to haveing a preast and then to having an group of men leading. We saw an area acrosed the street where there was a wine press and storage jars about size of a person. We also saw an old road that had stones and had greves wron from charot weals going over them.

Leaveing the agor we walked down the Agnation Way. Then we headed over to where beleved the jail where Paul was placed… The arecoligis don’t beleve this is the place. It is a sitern for the church that was in the area. There is an area that is yet to be escovated behind where the generals offices are. Then we headed over to the Theator and we sug some songs there. We then hered about the area that is open under the orcustra pit where there was lifts that would alow tigers and other animals to come up thru the flore when it was used for the gladerators.

Next was lunch. It was good but took over 2 howers after the first peson was served befor the last person was served. Other than the slow service the food was good. We then took the bus over to an area by a river where Paul did not meet lidea but could have ben along this river in another place. Was not this spot dew to finding a cimitary here.

Finaly we left Philipy and went over the the town near by where the bay was that Paul would have landed when his ship came in. We walked about 1/4 mile of he Ignation way leading up from the sea to Philipy where Paul would have walked when he arived to this area.

Then we headed back to Thesolonea. On the way back we stoped and saw the statue that was a Tiger from WWII that was re built.

Finaly we arived at our hotell. This is first time one of Harding group have stayed here. It is very nice. It is many stories tall and has all marbal flours. We went down for supper and several buttlers served us. It was a 5 star meal. Wonderful!! Then it is up stairs for an early night to bead.

This morning we had a spehal breakfast at 10:00 am. We had pankackes with surop, bakon and egs. It was DEEEELLLLISHOUS. After breakfast we receved our pay cheks for last few weeks and I did some work on more home work. I am trying to get all done befor we leave so that I won’t have as much to do when I get back. Right after breakfast the polece came by again. This time there had ben a complaint also. The oficer did not speakenglish and there was no one here at the time to translate. Mr. Myham ended up calling Vikey our secetary and the oficer explaind and she translated for us. Ended up being the exost fan for the stove had ben lefted on and some nabor was complainging dew to the noise. The joke after this was that all havick breaks loos when they leave for the night. 2 police calles etc. It had ben Bruce McKlarty’s turn to close up and be in charge but these items had not ben on a list to check for.

Tonight we have the potluck at church. We are breinging salid for everyone. And boy… do… we… have… salid… We are also bring soft drinks. We are all on our own to go into Athans early and look around, shop, etc. or we can wat till 4:00 and go in on the bus from here. I decided that I will wate for the bus and finish the remaning home work and studing. Then we will have potluck and church. After church we can go out around Athans and get more to eat if we wish or joust explor for an hower. After that we are to meet back at the Emonia church to ceach our bus to the train terminal.

The potluck went well. We set up tables in the aud area and had a exselent meal and felowship. After the potluck we all gatherd around the tables for worshop service. I helped lead the comunion service tonight and we honored a cuple that has ben missionarys at church there. They are heading back to the states and have compleated there work with the Athans church.

After church we walked up to emoniea squair and got some ice creeam at Goodies. After that I picked up a bottle of watter and walked around the squair for a while. A man came up to our group and he started tocking to us. We stared haveing a serface bible study and seeing where he was at. He was of the idea that there is only good and bad and he sed he beleved in Jesus Christ.

Folowing our time at the squair we waled back to the bus to take us to the train terminal. After waiting out by the tracks at the terminal for about 1:45 min our train arived. We all ran after the coatch car that was ourse. I went directly to our cushett where I took the bottom right bunk. There were 3 on each side that went up to the cealing. We folded the bed back into bench so would have more pading and then went to bead.

My first trean expernce went well. I slep farly well considering the conditions. I woke up most of the times that the train stoped and the bright lights from the station came in thru the wendows. Mickle opend the window to get some cool air during the night. Our train arived at 5:30 am in Thesolnika and then I jumped off the train befor it took off. Next we made a stop by the train terminal restrum to come our hair, put on deoterent, and get ready for the day. Then we went into the restrant up stairs where they had a bufay wating at a fast food restrant with bread, mufions, and bacon.

Today I had my second Bible test in the morning and then had greek class. The bible test went much beatter than the last one. I did well on the dates for Pauls life but I will joust have to wate and see exactly what I end up getting.

After chaple we had a suprise selebreationg for the MyHams. It is there 34 weding aniversery. Mr. MyHam planted a big kiss on DiyMy and then we formed the conga lign and danced around the artumus with some music that some of our group had put together. Then there was a spcial table with neetly set with flowers fo DyeMy. Daile and Pary then started dancing with the MyHams and then Mr. MyHam jumped in and stole is wife from Pary and they started dancing. This was a lot of fun. The MyHams are both going out for nice dinner in athans and going to one of our gides later today. They ended up getting in very early in the morning. After lunch we had kack honering there aniversery.

This afternoon I worked on home work and got ready for our trip tomaro to Thesolinika down in the living room. We all then gatherd to watch Lyonking one and 1/2 befor supper and then we had pizza and Ice Creem. It was deeelishousss. Then we all finished Lionking and then wached Glateators. During this hole time the MyHams had left to celerbreat there weding aniversery. During the movey some one called the police conserned about all the fighting going on over at our building from Goodies. The police showed up and they checked out the situation. I guess they had a little chukel after they would out what it was.

After this I haeaded up to close up the lab and go to bed. It has ben a fun day and I am realy looking fowarard to our trip tomaro. We will be going by traim so this will be my first train ride to a destination and to be in a sleeper car!! We are also haveing a potluck at church tomaro night with the English and the Rushian church.
