Today I had my first day of greek class and Bible class on Paul. We have started to learn several new words like good morning (calemara), good evening (calespara), and befor we start eating we say (calerexsie).

Cligm up the Mounton — After classes today I made my first jerny up the mounton that our hotell over looks in Portrafti. We left the Artumus around 3:00 pm. It was a lot of fun and was chalenging. I went up with my roomate Benet and Joe. Benet and Joe both have went up several times on a prevous trip to HUG when there parents were teaching here a few summers a go.

We hicked up to the top of the first pieck wich is what you see from town and then stoped and took some photoes from there on Joe’s try pod that he brought. This is about 1,500 ft frome see level below. To this point it took us about 1 and 1/2 howers from the start. Once we had done this we started to make our asent to the top of the next summut which is about another 1,000 ft to the top.

After we reached the top of the first landing there is a nice flat area where a lot of grass and less rocks are. We hicked acrosed there for about 200 ft on the level ground befor starting to clim the next hill to the top. The second clime was much easer than the first and did not have as many rocks to cligm up and more joust loose rocks on the ground. The whole mounton has a lot of briers and thorn bushes that will ceach you and scrach your arms.

Once we had reached the top of the next summut there was lots of places with flat rock serfices and was easy going for a while. The gound had leveled off and was much easer going from there to the summut. We continued and went up about another 100 ft befor reaching the top where there is a concreet piller marking the sumut. Total height from the see is around 2,600 to 3,000 ft.

On the way down the mounon we went down the right side opsite the side we had come up. This side was much slower going and had many more bushes to deal with. We ended up tacking around 2 howers to cligm down to the city from the sumut.

Once we reched the flat part between the two sumuts we hicked acrosed and ened up about 80 ft from where we came up the mounton. We then started our decent down the main slope of the mounton. This was a much more chalenging decent and had more rock clifs to deal with that on the way up. Nother to drastic. The larges rock face that we had to naveigate down was around 15 to 20 ft and it had good foot and hand holds. Benet ended up on a farly steep rock face and was chaleging for him to get down but made it safly after about 15 min of navigating. I went a crosed a leg at the top and made it down to a less ruguged and easer place to go down between two rock clifts.

Once we made it down to a large hill where there was tall grass we were so happy to see the flat gound once again. As we came down and reached an area with grass like on the prayers up to our wast some men shouted to us in greek and Benet toled them that we did not know greek; that we speek english. They then sed some thing to the effect that there are snakes up in the hills and were wondering why we would want to cligm a hill when there is nothing to see up there.

Once we reached the bottom we went down a road and ended up in some ones orcherd and then turned around and then went back up to the road. We then went back to the Artumus and supper was joust getting over. By now we were getting realy hungery. It is now about 7:55 and supper had begun at 6:00. We thought that we would make it back in time but took much longer to make our decent back down to town.

When we got in they were generous and gave us some cheken, corn, and frinch frise that were left over from supper. I also had some salid and watter. The rest of the evning I relxed and orginized some photoes that we had taken on our journy today.

Latter in the evning we had our first evning tea that is about 9:00 pm most nights. We had Nettella and gram crckers along with rasien bread and regular bread. There was an asortment of different types of tea. I had the vinilla tea.

Many of us were working on our first Bible paper for class that is dew sunday morning in class down out on the patteo on the wirless internet. Looked like a little wirless cafay. Prity neet.
